The Health, Equity, Advocacy, and Lactation (HEAL) Certified Professional™ program by Dillard University is designed to create competent lactation specialists who will impact the infant mortality crisis within the Black community in Louisiana and beyond. This Certification Program intends to fill the gap in breastfeeding support for Black families - a gap primarily created by historic and systemic inequities - by equipping tomorrow's doctors, nurses and public health professionals to support families with lactation knowledge, with a lens of equity and cultural humility.
